Amplifier Cabinets

Amplifier Cabinets

The Amplifier Cabinet is for musicians that have a limited amount of space in their music room or studio. In addition to amplifiers, we all collect effects, books, capos, cables, straps and various other music gear. This gear often ends up in a pile on top of our amplifiers. The Amplifier cabinet lets you keep your amps close at hand, and provides surge protected, filtered, clean power. It also provides a shelf for storing all the other items you want to keep handy. We can custom make them to the size of your combo amps, or you can put your amp head on the shelf and a (2×10 or 2×12) speaker cabinet underneath. Each cabinet has LED lighting and a rheostat, so you can see your amp controls.

When you want to use an amp, you simply pull it out on an easy to slide platform. All your gear can go on the shelves above the amps. Taking an amp to a gig is no problem. You simply pull out the drawer, unplug it from the surge protector, and take it with you.

Our Amplifier Cabinets can be ordered in one or two amp version to fit almost any combo amp. One and two amplifier configurations are available in custom widths to fit your needs.

Finish choices:

We offer Cherry, and Oak as standard woods, and American Black Walnut and Maple as premium woods at a slightly higher price. These are generally available in our local area in Eastern Pennsylvania. We work with local arborists who remove trees downed in storms and trees that need to be removed at the owners request. All our wood is aged for a year, and then kiln dried to prevent warping. We often get asked what the “best” wood is. There is no good answer to that.

These woods are great, but any good hardwood is a potential candidate for your cabinet. If you prefer Mahogany, Flame Maple, or other exotics, or vintage woods, we are happy to work with you. We also have a stash of wood that is the prettiest (in our opinion) that we get. We usually hold this wood for custom cabinets or special editions. We recommend natural finishes. If you want a dark cabinet, we recommend American Black Walnut. If you want a medium color wood, Cherry is beautiful, and for light cabinets, natural Maple is a wonderful light colored wood. These woods will change over the years. Walnut tends to lighten, Cherry tends to darken, and Maple will darken a bit as well. We think the patina of a beautifully aged cabinet is like the patina on a vintage guitar…there is nothing prettier. We will stain your piece if you want, and will do our best to match the samples we send you, but stains react differently based on the tree and grain, so it’s difficult to know exactly how your piece will look when stained. Every tree is unique! We are happy to send out finish samples. We make these in the shop using our finish materials. However, keep in mind every tree is different, so the samples only give an approximation of what the wood on your cabinet will look like. We hand select our wood. Let us know if there is something special you’re looking for.
