Shipping & Returns
With the exception of our single guitar “Nashville” cabinet, our cabinets are too large for FedEx, UPS or DHL delivery. We use a managed LTL (less than trailer load) service that can offer to drop off the cabinet at your door, or for an additional charge, they can bring the cabinet in, put it in place, and remove the packaging. One of the limitations of LTL delivery is that there is no tracking number.
Shipping costs vary based on your location, your proximity to a freight hub, the size and weight of your cabinet, and special services you may require during the delivery such as taking a cabinet up or down stairs. Remember that our medium-large and large cabinets generally will not fit stairways. For most metropolitan areas in the US, cabinet delivery starts at about $1000.
Delivery in the lower 48 states of the United States is typically one to two weeks from shipment, but can take longer if you live in a remote area. The delivery services operate Monday – Friday from 8AM to 5PM local time. If you require a weekend or after-hours delivery it may be available at an additional charge. We require full payment for all orders before they ship.
Local delivery within 250 miles of our shop can be arranged at a rate of $3 per mile, and a minimum charge of $400.
Timing of orders
We cannot guarantee shipping dates or delivery times as they vary based on the work load in our shop. We are happy to work with you to try to meet your needs, but we operate on a first come first served basis. Depending on the work load in the shop and the complexity of the order, we have had customer shipments take from four months to over a year for delivery. Our average shipping time from order to delivery is approximately six months.
Our products are made to order which allows the client to specifically select the wood, finish, interior appointments, humidification features and size of their cabinet. As a result of the custom nature of our product, cancellation and our ability to accept returns is limited. Deposits are non-refundable, even if work on your cabinet has not yet started. If you need to cancel an order after making a deposit, but before delivery, we will retain your deposit in your name and apply it to a future order if you choose.
If you wish to return a cabinet that has been paid for, we will return only the product amount paid in excess of your deposit. We do not refund any shipping or crating charges that you have paid. If you wish to return products that have been delivered, you are responsible for having them professionally crated and shipped back to American Music Furniture Company, LLC, and any charges associated with such.
We try to show samples of the standard wood types we offer, but we are limited by the variety of computer displays that may cause color variation in what you see on your screen. Keep in mind that wood is an organic material, and one piece of wood may react differently to a stain or finish than another board of the same species. We recommend that you ask for a sample if you are concerned about the exact finish of the cabinet you are ordering. Also keep in mind that as natural wood ages, colors may change and patinas may develop. We are not responsible for such naturally occurring changes.
