At the end of 2020, we had the honor of partnering with our Perkasie neighbor, Free Will Brewing Company to host a photoshoot featuring a new custom-designed Guitar Habitat. The rustic and industrial textures throughout the brewery floor provided the perfect atmosphere and backdrop to debut our new guitar & cigar humidor.
Free Will Brewing:
The day began with Free Will Brewing Company‘s retail manager Liv who gave us a tour of the facility. The Perkasie location was their first, opening in 2012. The 35,000-square-foot brewery includes a taproom, brewing operations center, barrel house, a private event space, and plenty of outdoor seating in the courtyard.
As we set up for the photo shoot, our senses were consumed by the aroma of hops, the sounds of whirring machines, and the assortment of brews ready to be bottled & distributed. The dedication and devotion we saw from Free Will’s team to craft and perfect their product is the same approach we take towards designing our humidified guitar displays & other custom music furniture.
The Custom Design:
This custom piece began with a conversation between our in-house designer Matt Warner and a customer who wanted to combine two things he loves; guitars and cigars. Matt led the design team along with art director Erin McGrath, to combine our classic guitar humidor with a cigar humidor in one piece of furniture.
The exterior wood chosen for this piece was a beautiful dark & rich walnut sourced locally here in Pennsylvania. The interior wood featured stunning reddish-brown Spanish Cedar. Equipped with four levels of cigar storage on the left, the cigar humidor has enough storage to properly humidify and preserve up to sixteen boxes of cigars at a time. Each level of the humidor slides in and out for easy access, and there’s no need to worry about disrupting the cigars thanks to the soft-close trays with adjustable dividers.
Our blackened bronze hardware adds a sleek yet modern design element to contrast our use of American hardwoods. This distinguished centerpiece provides the perfect pairing of a humidified guitar display cabinet to preserve your guitars while also having your cigar collection within arm’s reach.
